Barbara Mandrell is an American country music singer, musician, and actress who was born and brought up in Houston, Texas, the United States as Barbara Ann Mandrell. She was quite famous in the 70s and 80s due to her series of country hits and her own prime-time variety TV show on NBC.
Mandrell caught the attention of country stars Chet Atkins and Joe Maphis when she was 11 years old and toured with Patsy Cline at an age of 13 years old. Barbara along with her family later formed the Mandrell Family band, which toured the country to considerable fame. She became a two times female country musician to win the CMA Entertainer of the Year award.
