Born Irving Rameses Rhames in New York, New York on May 12, 1959, the star actor was raised alongside his brother Junior Rhames, in a poor family with a mechanic father and housekeeper mother. Unlike many others who were born in love with acting, Ving fell in love with the screen when he attended the High School of Performing Arts. From there he went to New York University where he studied acting.

Although he has acted in a number of plays in the past, it was Go Tell It on the Mountain which became his first film in 1984. This was followed by Native Son and Patty Hearst in 1986 and 1988 respectively. Subsequently, he acted in Victims of War, The Long Walk Home, and Jacob’s Ladder. His first film Mission Impossible was released in 1996.

By 2010, Ving had already participated in more than 30 films. From then on it continued with other such as Zombie Apocalypse , Mafia, Death Race 3: Inferno, and Execution Force. His most recent works are Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 The Star, and Father Figures in 2017, as well as Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018.
