Sara Fischer is an American journalist. She currently serves as a media reporter for Axios. Sara has been with the network since January 2017. Before joining Axios, she served as a  digital producer for The Washington Post. While there, Sara produced and edited segments for live and also digital audiences. Prior to joining the Post, Sara worked for The New York Times. While there, she joined The Times’ political advertising team.

Before joining The Times, she worked for the CNN Network. Sara joined the network in 2014 and while there, she wrote breaking news stories for CNN Politics and also co-authored the network’s political newsletter, Gut Check. Previously, before CNN, Sara was a  business development associate at Politico. While there, she helped manage sales operations and also client engagement for the company’s advertising team.
