American vocalist, pianist, composer, and songwriter Billy Joel was wounded in a motorcycle crash on Long Island.
Elizabeth Joel, the 32-year-old performer’s wife, assured the audience, “He’ll be fine.” We are all incredibly relieved. Although his hands hurt, he is in terrific spirits and feels excellent.”
Fans of the rock artist flooded the hospital switchboard with calls, and Mr. Joel begged them to stop through a spokesman because they were “tying up lines for those people who are actually sick.”

After undergoing extensive surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, Billy Joel, the rock singer and composer who was hurt in a motorbike accident on Long Island, was described as being in “pretty good” health.
After spending two hours operating on Billy Joel’s left thumb and right wrist, Dr. David L. Andrews predicted that the singer would be able to resume “full activity in reference to his occupation” in three to four months.
In Huntington, Long Island, Mr Joel was driving his 1978 Harley Davidson past the junction of New York Avenue and West Ninth Street, according to Suffolk County police Sgt. Ted Avinila.
When Cornelia Bynum of Huntington turned onto New York Avenue, he said the bike struck her vehicle. After being transported to a local hospital, Mr Joel was flown by helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. Bynum suffered no harm.

Billy Joel seems not to have glass eyes while looking through his pictures. Even though his eyes look real, he may have hurt his eyes during an accident and replaced them with a glass eye.
As per the Scoop, During the media storm, a supporter shouted, “Billy! You shine!” When Joel turned to thank his fan, his right eye instantly ejected.
As a crowd of cameras surrounded the performer’s eye in a frenzy of gasps and flash photography, the performer shouted in pain. Sadly, a woman rushed over to assist her idol during the chaos and unintentionally stepped on the eye. It was beyond saving.
Joel allegedly received emergency medical attention at Methodist Hospital right away after the event.
